Beetroot Gin & Tonic

While we love a simple, well made Gin & Tonic we sometimes feel it is nice to experiment a little. Especially when serving an aperitif for a dinner party. We have had great feedback from guests about this Beetroot Gin & Tonic, so thought we’ll share it with all of you to try. Maybe  even as a last minute addition to your halloween party?

Last year we served the drink in a hollowed out pumpkin.  Went down a treat.


for one short drink, simply multiply if you want to make a large batch

  • 1.5 tsp cooked beetroot (pureed)
  • 3.5 tsp orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/4 tsp agave nectar
  • 2cl gin
  • 140ml Indian tonic water
  • ice

how it’s done

In a short glass, add the cooked beetroot puree, orange juice, agave nectar and gin. Stir until well combined. If you have a shaker, add the ingredients including a couple of ice cubes in the shaker, give it your best shake and then strain into the glass.

Add 3-4 ice cubes to your glass and top it up with Indian tonic water. You may want to use less/more of the tonic water, depending on your own personal preferences.

Serve straight away and enjoy.
